Industrial applications
Applications , research and development
The use of activated carbon is well known in industrial applications for the removal of impurities such as colour or undesirable compounds. Activated carbons are particularly effective decolourising and purification media and are widely used in the chemical, petrochemical and pharmaceutical industry for processes such as intermediate, organic and inorganic acid and solvent treatment.
Activated Other less known applications are
- Catalyst or catalyst support: An example is phosgene production.
- Recovery of precious metals: An Example is recovery of rhodium that was used as a catalyst.
The use of activated carbon, in one of the above range of applications, always give an added value to the production process.
